Artemis is Minako (Venus)'s cat. Artemis came from the planet Mau, and due to this has a human form. He shows this form during ther Dream arc of the manga to save Minako.
He is in love with Luna, Usagi's guardian cat. Luna is a little harsh on him sometimes, but the feelings are mutual. In the future, Luna and Artemis have a daughter named Diana.
Artemis's job is to protect Minako and advise her. He does this to the fullest extent he can, and is willing to give his life for her.
In most of the manga series, Artemis is seen in the Central Control Room, but he does go out and about with Minako and her the other Sailor Soldiers. In the SailorStars ark, Artemis's main appearance was meeting Sailor Tin Nyanko.
From her, they find out that Mau has been destroyed by Sailor Galaxia. Luna and Artemis turn into their human forms to fight her along with Diana, but Sailor Tin Nyanko blasts them with her attack, Galactica Puppet, damaging the crescent moon on his forehead, which is the source of his power. Later on, he was killed by Sailor Lethe.
