Chibiusa first made her appearance when she fell on Usagi from the sky while Usagi and Mamoru were kissing in the park. It was later revealed that Chibiusa was from the future, 30th century Crystal Tokyo. Chibiusa's mother had been captured by the enemy. Chibiusa also becomes a Sailor Soldier during this part of the story, becoming Sailor Chibi Moon, and gets her own Ginzuishou. Chibiusa later comes back from the future to assist Usagi in her battles, and it is also later revealed that the Sailor Quartet (Sailor Ceres, Sailor Pallas, Sailor Juno, and Sailor Vesta) are her guardians. Chibiusa's mother and father in the future and Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion, who are the future selves of Usagi and Mamoru. Chibiusa can be annoying and persistant, but she loves her mother and father very much. Her guardian cat is named Diana, who is the daughter of Luna and Artemis.
Chibiusa more or less starts off her SailorStars manga appearance by going home to Crystal Tokyo with Diana to tell her mother about her accomplishments while she was in the 20th century training with Sailor Moon. Soon after Chibiusa gets back, she feels a disturbance and wants to go back to the past to see what it is. When she is going to see Sailor Pluto, she comes upon Neo Queen Serenity speaking to Pluto and finds out that there is a disturbance in the past. Chibiusa wants to go back, but Neo Queen Serenity tells Chibiusa that her training is over, and she is to stay in the future and finish her education.
When Chibiusa finds that Diana has been missing, she goes to see Neo Queen Serenity. Neo Queen Serenity states that she sent Diana back into the past to investigate the disturbances. Chibiusa declares that she is going to the past, and transforms into Sailor Chibi Moon. The Sailor Quartet also appear to protect Sailor Chibi Moon, and Neo Queen Serenity gives Sailor Chibi Moon a Time-Space Key to travel to Sailor Moon.
Meanwhile, after reaching Sailor Heavymetal Papillion, Sailor Moon, Princess Kakyuu, and Sailor Chibi Moon are tied to crosses and are being burned. Sailor Chibi Moon and the Sailor Quartet appear and free them with Pink Lady's Freezing Kiss. Sailor Heavymetal Papillon is then destroyed by the Sailor Quartet. After a little debate about who Chibi Chibi is, the team continues on. Princess Kakyuu is killed, then soon after the small group meet the posessed Sailor Senshi. Sailor Chibi Moon wants to help, but Chibi Chibi tells her that the battle was Sailor Moon's.
After a bout with Sailor Galaxia, Sailor Galaxia flees to the Galaxy Cauldron with Tuxedo Kamen, who is under her control. Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi Moon, and Chibi Chibi follow. Sailor Galaxia makes Tuxedo Kamen throw himself into the Galaxy Cauldron, and Sailor Chibi Moon disappears because of this.
Chibiusa is last seen in the Galaxy Cauldron after Sailor Moon throws herself into it to defeat Sailor Chaos. With a smile, Chibiusa tells Usagi that she'll be waiting in the 30th Century then disappears in a ball of light.
Chibiusa had a rather large role in the Chibiusa's Picture Diary. With Hotaru, Chibiusa decided to go to a pawn shop with her friends Naruru and Ruruna. Hotaru and the two girls had quite a bit of friction between them, which Chibiusa tried her best to be an intermediary. During their visit, a truck crashed into the pawn shop's warehouse, releasing an evil spirit named Otakura, who tried to suck everyone into the pawn shop. Usagi and Chibiusa transformed, but their introduction was interrupted by Supermodel Ruruna and Supermodel Naruru. After the two girls were taken care of by Otakura, Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon used Starlight Honeymoon Double Therapy Kiss to free Hotaru.
