Seiya is the leader of the Sailor Starlights, who include Taiki and Yaten. Their job is to protect the planet Kinmokusei and its Princess Kakyuu. Seiya is the flirtiest of the Sailor Starlights, and appears to be the most physically active. In SailorStars, Sailor Galaxia had destroyed Kinmokusei. Princess Kakyuu fled to Earth, and the Sailor Starlights became the super popular band called the Three Lights who sang songs to try and find the Princess.

Feeling many Sailor Crystals, Sailor Iron Mouse attacked the Three Lights' first concert. The Sailor Starlights also appeared, and Sailor Star Healer ended up killing Sailor Iron Mouse, and the Starlights made a hasty exit.

Soon after, Sailor Aluminum Seirin appeared and took the Sailor Crystals of Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Mercury. The Starlights transformed and attacked, killing Sailor Aluminum Seiren, and introduced themselves to the other Sailor Soldiers. They told Sailor Moon that the two were dead, something she did not want to believe.

The next day, Rei and Minako went to confront the Lights to find out if the Three Lights were Sailor Starlights. They transformed in front of the Lights and demanded that the Lights transform too. The Three Lights did so, proving the fact that they were the Sailor Starlights.

A while later, the Lights went over to Usagi's house to comfort her about the loss of her friends to Sailor Galaxia. There, the Lights found an incense burner which belonged to their Princess. When they came back later to retrieve the burner, after an argument with Chibi Chibi, Princess Kakyuu revealed herself.

After a battle with Sailor Galaxia, Princess Kakyuu took Usagi to where she was saying, and told the tale of Sailor Galaxia and her goal to collect all the Sailor Crystals. Usagi began to get depressed, but to comfort her Seiya gave her a kiss.

The Sailor Starlights, Princess Kakyuu, Sailor Chibi Chibi, and Sailor Moon then decided to go into space and see what happened to Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, Sailor Pluto, and Sailor Saturn, since they had not been in contact for days. Upon discovering that they had been killed, they decided to venture into the heart of Sailor Galaxia's domain.

They came across Sailor Lethe and Sailor Mnemosyne, who used their powers to make the group forget everything. Sailor Moon remembered on her own, waking up Chibi Chibi. Sailor Lethe helped Princess Kakyuu with her power to remember, and this saved the Princess. However, the Sailor Starlights were never saved. When Sailor Chi and Sailor Phi came to kill Sailor Lethe and Sailor Mnemosyne for betrayal, they also stole he Sailor Crystals of the Sailor Starlights.
