Kenji is the father of Usagi and Shingo, as well as the wife of Ikuko. Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon, states that she based Kenji off of her own father.
Kenji works as a magazine editor. This is stated in the Materials Collection, and shown in Act 04, when he goes out to take pictures of the D Kingdom Embassy.
Kenji cannot stand the idea of Usagi having a boyfriend. Whenever Usagi mentions a boyfriend or implies anything of the sort, Kenji goes crazy.
His appearance in Sailor Moon SailorStars was a short one. Usagi hands Luna, Artemis, and Diana to Ikuko and runs out the door. Kenji asks what's wrong, and Ikuko comments that it felt like Usagi wasn't returning.
