Taiki works with Seiya and Yaten to protect the planet Kinmokusei, and their princess, Princess Kakyuu. Taiki is the the smartest of the Sailor Starlights, as well as the most well-read and the one who thinks most logically. In SailorStars, Sailor Galaxia had destroyed Kinmokusei. Princess Kakyuu fled to Earth, and the Sailor Starlights became the super popular band called the Three Lights who sang songs to try and find the Princess.

Sailor Iron Mouse ended up attacking during one of the Sailor Starlights' first concerts, as she felt a plethora of Sailor Crystals. The Sailor Starlights also appeared, and Sailor Star Healer ended up killing Sailor Iron Mouse, though the Lights left without introducing themselves.

Later, on the roof of the school, Sailor Aluminum Seiren appeared and, after a bit of fighting, managed to take the Sailor Crystals of Sailo Jupiter and Sailor Mercury. The Starlights transformed and attacked, killing Sailor Aluminum Seiren, and introduced themselves to the other Sailor Soldiers. They explained that Sailor Mercury and Sailor Jupiter were dead since their Sailor Crystals were stolen, and left.

The next day, Rei and Minako went to confront the Lights. Their mission was to find out whether the Three Lights were also the Sailor Starlights. They transformed in front of the Lights and demanded that if they were Sailor Soldiers, they should transform too. The Three Lights did so, confirming their secret identities.

A few days later, the Three Lights went to Usagi's house to comfort her over the loss of her friends due to Galaxia. There, the Lights found an incense burner, which they knew to be that of their Princess. When they came back to retrieve the burner, although Chibi Chibi vemently refused to give up the burner, Princess Kakyuu revealed herself to the Lights.

After a battle with Sailor Galaxia, Princess Kakyuu took Usagi to where she and the Sailor Starlights were staying, and told the story of Sailor Galaxia, and how her aim was to collect all the Sailor Crystals. Usagi began to get depressed again, but Seiya gave Usagi a kiss, and comforted her.

The Sailor Starlights, Princess Kakyuu, Sailor Chibi Chibi, and Sailor Moon then decided to go into space and see what happened to Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, Sailor Pluto, and Sailor Saturn, since they had not been in contact for days. After it was found these four had been killed, the group decided to venture to the heart of Saggitarius Zero Star for a final showdown with Sailor Galaxia.

They came across Sailor Lethe and Sailor Mnemosyne, who used their powers to make the group forget everything. Sailor Moon remembered on her own, waking up Chibi Chibi. Sailor Lethe helped Princess Kakyuu with her power to remember, and the Princess woke up. However, the Sailor Starlights never woke up. When Sailor Chi and Sailor Phi came to kill Sailor Lethe and Sailor Mnemosyne for letting Sailor Moon pass, they also took the Sailor Crystals of the Sailor Starlights.
