This is entirely untrue. Sailor Moon was originally aimed towards teenagers, not seven year olds. Or maybe it's the fact that they've seen some of the bit more suggestive scenes, like Rei's frequent panty shots in the first season, the body lines on the senshi's transformation, the Sailor Starlight's gender problem, or even episode 200! (You know what I'm talking about. The one where Usagi flies nude to defeat Sailor Chaos) So, it's time to shoot down each one of those points.
1. REI'S FREQUENT PANTY SHOTS
Rei joins battle. Rei jumps up! w00t! Panty shot! Truth is people, it isn't technically a panty shot. Though it does show under the skirt, they aren't panties even though they are drawn disproportinate to the rest of the suit sometimes. If you watch Usagi's transformation, you will see the white body part come on before anything else. What you're seeing is more the bottom of a girl's bathing suit rather than panties. Plus, the shots don't last long, three seconds max. If it was really hentai, there wouldn't be the 'panties' ... O.o
2. THE INFAMOUS BODY LINES
Ahh yes. The body lines when the Senshi transform. But first let me get something straight: Usagi never has, and probably never will have body lines on her transformation. Now as for the others. The body lines are just outlines of the chest and legs and do not show detail. All these body lines are, basically, are showing us the outlines of the girl's bodies. Why? I don't know? Probably because they look weird without them, like in the dub.
3. GENDER ISSUES WITH SEIYA, YATEN, AND TAIKI
We've all heard about this. The Sailor Starlights are male in civilian form and female in Senshi form. But that was not how Naoko Takeuchi intended it. Originally, the Starlights were 100% female, just posing as males because they believed it would be easier to call for their princess. But let me ask this: What's wrong with it? Just because they are different than we are doesn't mean that they are bad people! I've seen many people turn out the Starlights as characters just because of this little fact! Say humans are female 1-50, and turn male at 51. We might consider staying one gender weird! There is nothing wrong with this.
4. USAGI, WHERE ART THOU CLOTHES?
In episode 200, Usagi flies throughout the sky nude to battle with Sailor Chaos. This part shall be short and sweet. There is no detail. That's right, no detal, no hentai, no touching, no nothing. She just lost her clothes. Why? Well I saw a fourteen minute clip of most of the end of Stars, and Usagi was wrapped in ribbons, they disspeared, and Usagi stood there nude, with her wings and arms covering herself. And the Stars series went differently in the manga, and Usagi was only nude flying into the Galaxy Cauldron.
