Sitey >> Site History
The site first started out as frames or no frames, and the frames had borders (the distinction between pages.) The background was solid black, and my "signature font" was Amazone BT, a fancy cursive font. Each section had a weird name, for example Golden Appearance was the manga dialouage and Bits of Stardust were my other sites. The non-frames was tables, and on the left was the link and right was the description. On the frames page, there was the links to the left and a description to the right. On the frames page, the links were to the left and the descriptions were to the right. The splash page had a 552 x 485 image and font size seven text for choices between frames and no frames.Later, when reviwer La Contessa looked at it, she told me that my layout was, well, sort of bad. I started expirementing with tables, and I came out with version 2.0. Each link was down side in a bullet the shape of the top of Sailor Cosmos's staff. Now the background was a plain white. The links went down a bullet on each side, and there were alt tags so if the viewer moused over, the name of the section would appear. Also, my "signature font" changed to Calligrapher, which I still use today. When a friend, Nausheen, looked over it, she suggested more color, which became 3.0
While I probably should have called this version 2.3 or 2.5, that logical thought slipped my mind and that's what I called the newest version. Everything else stayed the same except for the occasional changing around of link orders. This version was the last stand of the Weird Names.
Later Nausheen told me that my layout was a little hard to navigate, and I decided, with a little help from Sakura-san, to go back to frames.
Version 4.0 used a newly leaned skill, CSS. I chose a soft pink background with soft blue links and a solid black text, which carried over to version 4.5. Sections were split into five major categories, and updates were stored a month at a time.
I got reviewed by Tiffu, who told me that while my content was good, my layout was a little plain.
Tiffu and I put our heads together and she finally made the main banner for version 4.5 and the basic layout idea, which included the image below the links.
I found my current host, StartLogic, and I decided to transfer. (1,000 megabytes for 7.50 / month instead of 25 megabytes for 8.95 / month) and I decided to cancel my Geocities account so I wouldn't have to pay any more. I thought I would get my free account with all my files back, so I shamelessly cancelled. Ends up that cancelling deletes the whole account. I wasn't too dissapointed, maybe because it was 3:30 in the morning. My thoughts went something like this:
I think I'll cancel so I don't have to pay anymore...yes!!! Now let's go to my free site and...why am I getting a Yahoo 404 error? Let's check my account...Aw crap. Oh well I'll rebuild now!
Thus I've been rebuilding my whole site from scratch. And the work began.
On May third, 2004 I got the site 100% back to where it was. Basically for the months I was lazying around, occasionally finding things to update.
I was looking around a few award application pages, and I saw a requirement that said "A nice layout using moden codes." I thought about my site, and got the wake up call of "Hey, my layout really kind of sucks." I thought for about a week or two on end, wondering about a layout. But, unlike usually, nothing was coming to mind.
Suddenly, I woke up one morning (I really did wake up and think this, after thinking "Should I watch Pretty Guardian this morning?") and thought "Hey, frames are beginning to suck for this site in general, let's get some spiffy tables done!"
I had my idea come to me right then and there for the layout, which differed slightly. Where the links to the sections are, you would see the star-bullets like those that are between links, and the sections would be listed. I had major table trouble until Dan-san from Sailor Moon Uncensored spent about 45 minutes with me working on the site. It was about May 28th, and I decided to completely close down CSCS to work.
I quickly got though the sections, and everything was done on June 4th. I anticipated June 7th, my site's one year anniversary.
The site is now one year old, and it's been ONE HECK of a ride. I have a spiffy new layout, a year old site, and a really great host, Startlogic! What more could I want? Well, some cookies would be nice, but...
After working with 5.0 for a while, I got sick of something. That something was, every time I wanted to add a new section, I had to edit all the pages in that section for the side links.
After working for a bit, I came up with some tables. My first few attempts made me wary about frames, but I mixed some nice tables together, pulled one of my traditional Photoimpression backgrounds, and I was all set except for a main image.
I had something in mind, but Naoko had never drawn it, so I took it upon myself to draw it. But my art skills aren't very good. I went to a girl in my Social Science class, and she very kindly fixed up the image for me. Sankyuu!
Then, after a while with my new layout, I got a notice that I got a review from the Sailor Moon Pocky Box. It was a bad review, so I decided to change the layout around. Lo and behold, a few days after I take it down, a catastrophe strikes as my site goes down. I called StartLogic, and apparently my domain expired.
After about three straight hours on the phone with various sections of StartLogic's Tech Support as well as Yahoo! Geocities Tech Support, I find out that my "Registar" is Melbourne.it, and I have to renew my domain. After faxing forms, two more hours with Tech Support, and the whole two bit, I finally got the domain renewed in about five days.
After this, I started working on a new layout. There were some parts that were good, but some colour schemes that were not, I got help from a friend name Starwing. This exceptionally kind person not only gave me advice, but made a layout similar to the one I was using (Though obviously better) and allowed me to use it! Thank you so much! And so, that is the layout you see today.
This layout, 7.0, is also where the site's name changed from Celexa's Sailor Cosmos Shrine to Cosmos Gelidus Semotusque, which in Latin means (basically) "The Cold Distant Cosmos". Also, my webnickname changed to Cele. Why did I name myself after an anti-depressant medication? Mainly due to an old website project, Pill Authors. Celexa was the name I chose in membership.
I had gotten a suggestion to create a new layout sometime in February. Luckily, I got into Web Design class. They provided us with a huge textbook that covers HTML and a little DHTMl. I used this to assist me in creating layout 8.0.
I got bored with 8.0 after a while. I mean some pink is nice, but too much is overwhelming. Kind of like Chibiusa in Sailor Moon SuperS. So a long time ago when I could barely understand Japanese, I was listening to Sailor Jupiter's image song, Starlight ni Kisu Shite. One line in it is "Fushigina Moonlight Rain / senaka o oshite" and I heard "Fushigi na moonlight rain / Sailor Cosmos wo misete" (I didn't know it was Jupiter's image song, haha) and this layout's name is based off my misconception. Why green? Well, why not?
